The mother of Jesus is one of the sweetest and a very kind being, blessed by god because of her own mannerism. She also was never rich and lived a frugal life. She was not “chosen” by coincidence. Just like we as mothers are not “chosen” by coincidence. God knew you were the right mother for those babies when he blessed you with them, just like he knew Mary was the right mother for his son. Don’t take that blessing lightly.

How is frugality a path to God?

True godly frugality is not an issue of saving money, self-denial, or hoarding necessities. Frugality in the image of God is a practice of self-control that saves, multiplies, and spends the resources God gives so wisely that wealth (for self and for others) results from the frugal living.

Romans 11:21 (NLT) For if God did not spare the original branches, he won’t spare you either.

Proverbs 1:7 (TPT) We cross the threshold of true knowledge when we live in obedient devotion to God. Stubborn know-it-alls will never stop to do this, for they scorn true wisdom and knowledge.

Proverbs 25:28 (NLT) A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.

Proverbs 5:23 (NLT) He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.

John 6:12 (NIV) When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”

Ecclesiastes 5:12 (NIV) The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.

Proverbs 22:7 (NIV) The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
